FAQs
How long does body painting normally take?
Every individual is different based on the design, body, coverage, and experience. On average, a full body takes 5-6 hours while doing a back, shoulders and arms combination is approximately 3 hours depending on the detail. A good rule of thumb is to base it on the amount of limbs being painted as each arm, leg, back, front each take just under an hour.
What do I do during my session?
It varies: May is a social butterfly and can keep conversations going for hours and get to know you. However, there is the option of listening to the radio, your iPod (you can even have your headphones in if you so choose), or bring someone in to read to you/hold up the book for you to read! Or, a movie (or 2 or 3) can be played. This is your experience and you can do whatever is relaxing for you in order to make this a comfortable and memorable experience.
I’m conservative, but this is a neat idea! What do I do?
You do only that which makes you at ease. MetamorFaces is not looking to step over any boundaries, but rather, share an experience with you. You can choose to have only your arms and shoulders painted with partially your back, maybe a leg from under a skirt. The entire time you are being painted (other than front), you are provided with a sheet to cover up. The body painting session is done by a female artist and the basic package provides a photoshoot by the artist; thus reducing the amount of people in the room. Although they vary in skill, you also have a choice between photographers as MetamorFaces is working with a number of talented individuals. Lastly, you are able to bring anyone you wish with you to the session to keep you company and are provided a rundown of the experience prior to starting.
Can I bring anyone with me to keep me company?
Yes. You can bring 1-3 people to join you to make your experience comfortable, fun, and memorable! Please do not bring a large crowd as the studio is limited in space.
How in the world do I get this paint off of me?
Don’t worry! The paint comes off in the shower just with water. Some colours may require soap, but generally it comes off very easily with minimal scrubbing.
What do I wear and do you supply it?
Unfortunately MetamorFaces does not supply under garments for the shoot for sanitary purposes as well as this allows you to bring something that is comfortable and guaranteed to be your size. The closer the item is to your skin in colour, the more it will be unnoticeable under the paint (white will be too bright and will stand out). For the bottom, you can bring whatever you think will go best with your design and is within your comfort level whether it is a thong, regular or even boxer short underwear. As for the top, previous models have tried anything from strapless bras, to tape, to stick on bras (“Reveal Bra”); however, experience shows the best way to go is entirely topless. As mentioned in the question about your comfort, a sheet is provided for coverage during the process, and pictures will only be taken from the angles you are comfortable with.
